The New Year Flower does not attract any wildlife so will not affect your current garden setup… but it will bring a beautiful firework display to your Garden in time to celebrate the new year!
And of course, the new year is an extra special occasion in Fairyland, because we will also be celebrating our 5th birthday this year!
To mark the occasion, something very special will be arriving in Fairyland in the first week of January… look out for more news soon!
Capricorn Zodiac Gifts Now Available!
Thursday December 20th
It’s Zodiac time of the month again, and the Capricorn seed is now available in the gift shoppe for sharing with friends!
|
|
When ‘Ready For Harvest’, it will attract the Sea Goat to your Garden, which will drop a Garnet Birthstone every 10th time you spot it in other Gardens!
Remember that this year, there are 2 possible Babies which can be born from each Birthstone, and for the Garnet Birthstone, it’s Baby Foxes and Baby Wombats!
Baby Fox |
Baby Wombat |
(Wombats are not easy wildlife to attract, so this is definitely one for those who like a challenge!)
For full details on how to use birthstones to make baby wildlife, please see the ‘Babies’ section of the Wildlife Guide.
Happy baby making!
Pink Diamonds!
Friday December 14th
Starting today, the Fairyland wildlife have begun dropping bonus Pink Diamonds, as well as regular ones!
If you’re lucky enough to spot any wildlife within 5 minutes of its arrival in a Garden, it will drop a bonus Pink Diamond for both the spotter and the Garden owner. (All wildlife, from the humble mouse to the rarest of the unicorns, will drop the exact same bonus of 1 Pink Diamond.)
Pink Diamonds are added to your total instantly when you spot the wildlife in another Garden. For wildlife spotted in your own Garden, the Pink Diamonds will be added to your total when you next clear your feeding table (the same as regular Diamonds.)
Finally, you’re probably wondering what these new Pink Diamonds are used for? Well, you’ll have to wait just a little longer, and all will be revealed when we celebrate Fairyland’s 5th Birthday in January!
Festive Hand-Painted Pots!
Thursday December 6th
The festive season wouldn’t be complete without some nice new Hand-Painted pots, and some great new Limited Editions are now available in the Pot Shoppe!
There are 5 new festive pot designs (one is available each day, until the end of December), along with limited edition seasonal pot colours – red and white.
And that’s not all – there are some delightful seasonal brims available too!
Finally, the Poinsettia and the Ice Flower are now also available as free seeds in the “Misc” section of the Seed Shoppe, so you can plant them in your new festive pots 🙂
Happy festive pot making!
It’s Time To Decorate The Tree!
Saturday December 1st
Fairyland has a fabulous new Christmas Tree this year… and it needs your help to decorate it!
Get started right away by sharing trees with your friends:
Share The Link |
Send Gifts |
How It Works
Decorating the tree is very similar to building snowmen or scarecrows – you need to collect the various items with which to decorate it – streamers, garlands, gifts, baubles and lights. That’s 5 items in all.
These items are dropped by the winter seasonal wildlife – see the Seasonal section of the Wildlife Guide for full details.
You’ll notice that the winter seasonal wildlife now drop both the snowman-building items and the tree-decorating items. However they will only drop ONE item for every 5th spot (either a snowman item or a tree decoration, but not both.) If you happen to have 2 things in your garden which need decorating (e.g. a tree and a snowman), then it’s always the leftmost one which will get priority – so make sure you arrange your Garden with this in mind!
When fully decorated, the tree is guaranteed to make your Garden look fabulously festive, and it will also attract all the usual Christmas Tree wildlife (including Rudolph and Polar Bears!)
Happy decorating!
Special Offer – Ends This Weekend!
Wednesday November 28th
Just a reminder that our Double Star Dust offer ends this weekend, so if you would like to take advantage of it, be quick!
We don’t run special offers very often, so if you would like some extra Gold/Star Dust for the new year (and the fantastic new things which are arriving in Fairyland in January!) then be sure to take advantage of this offer while it’s available!
Poinsettias, Ice Flowers & Snowmen!
Tuesday November 27th
The festive season is fast approaching… and there’s a new seasonal challenge arriving in Fairyland this year!
But to get started, our regular seasonal plants (and the Snowmen) are here once again!
First up, the Poinsettia is now available in the Gift Shoppe for sharing with friends:
When flowering, the Poinsettia will attract seasonal birds your Garden (Cardinals and Robins), and when harvested, all Poinsettias release a small but welcome gift of Gold!
Our regular Ice Flowers are also now available in the Gift Shoppe for sharing with friends:
While flowering, the Ice Flower will bring a beautiful flurry of snow to your Garden, attracting cold-weather wildlife such as the Arctic Fox and the Arctic Hare.
And as usual, whenever the snow is falling in your Garden, any Mice & Mallards visiting will be dressed in their best festive outfits, and will give double diamonds when spotted!
And finally, you can now build Snowmen again!
This year, Snowman parts are dropped for every 5th spot of seasonal wildlife (instead of every 10th.) And as an extra bonus, there’s a brand new wintry garden effect to enjoy this year after you have completed a Snowman! (Or if you already built a Snowman last year and don’t want to build another this year, then you can also Star Dust last year’s Snowman to get the effect… although that’s not nearly so much fun as building a new one!)
Not sure how to build a Snowman? Put one in your Garden, and it will have a “Help” link which you can click to get all the info you need 🙂
One Final Albino!
Monday November 26th
The most popular suggestion we received for the 10th and final Albino (for this year anyway!) was the Chipmunk, so Albino Chipmunks are now on the loose in Fairyland!
Albino Chipmunk
Remember that all Albinos will drop a very special “Mystery Seed” the first time you spot them (these will become plantable in January as part of Fairyland’s 5th Birthday celebrations… and we can guarantee that something fantastic is coming, so try to get one or two before then if you can!)
Sagittarius Zodiac Gifts Now Available!
Tuesday November 20th
It’s Zodiac time of the month again, and the Sagittarius seed is now available in the gift shoppe for sharing with friends!
When ‘Ready For Harvest’, it will of course attract the handsome Centaur to your Garden, who will drop a Blue Topaz Birthstone every 10th time you spot him in other Gardens (note: Centaurs only eat Veggies!)
Remember that this year, there are 2 possible Babies which can be born from each Birthstone, and for the Blue Topaz Birthstone, it’s Baby Elephants and Baby Aardvarks!
Baby Elephant |
Baby Aardvark |
For full details on how to use birthstones to make baby wildlife, please see the ‘Babies’ section of the Wildlife Guide.
Happy baby making!
Special Offer – Double Star Dust!
Friday November 16th
Great news – another of our Double Star Dust offers starts today!
This time around, we have extended the offer to ALL purchases of Gold, large or small (although the larger purchases give the best value for money!)
So why not go ahead and treat yourself (or a friend) and help to support the future development of Fairyland 🙂
The offer is only available for the next 2 weeks – don’t miss your chance!
New Albino Wildlife!
Friday November 9th
Some new and very rare wildlife have been spotted around Fairyland over the last few days – Albino versions of some of the regular Fairyland wildlife:
Albino Kangaroo |
Albino Brown Bunny |
Albino Grey Squirrel |
And that’s not all – there’s one more new arrival just arrived today… can you tell what it is? (Should be an easy one to guess!)
???
Remember that Albinos are extremely rare – only about 5-10% of the population of each of these wildlife types are Albino (which means that on average, you’ll only get 1 Albino Kangaroo in every 10-20 regular Kangaroos for example.)
However if do you manage to spot one of these new Albinos, it will drop a very special “Mystery Seed” the first time you spot it!
This Mystery Seed cannot yet be planted, but will become plantable in January, as part of Fairyland’s 5th Birthday celebrations!
…and what’s coming in January promises to be the most fun & exciting thing to arrive in Fairyland yet, so try to find at least 1 or 2 Mystery Seeds if you can – there’s plenty of time between now and January to find them, so no rush 🙂
Poppies Now Available!
Tuesday November 6th
Limited Edition Poppies are now available in the Gift Shoppe for sending to friends!
When ‘ready for harvest’, Poppies will attract beautiful Peace Doves to your Garden!
Get Your Scarecrows Ready…
Friday October 26th
There are just a few days to go until Halloween!
Have you built a Scarecrow yet? If not, click the Scarecrow picture below to get yourself a stick and start building!
…then remember to leave your favourite completed Scarecrows out in your Garden for when Halloween arrives… who knows what may happen?!!
A Few Recent Improvements…
Thursday October 25th
Over the last few days we’ve had chance to make a number of improvements based on suggestions/feedback we’ve received… here are a few which you may like to know about:
Garden Search
The “Garden Search” box on the “All Gardens” page had been broken for some time, but is now fixed and fully functional 🙂
Garden Game Expiry Alert
If you like to keep a “Garden Game” running in your garden, then you’ll notice that it now highlights in red when it’s about to expire or has just expired, which should help you spot when it needs replacing!
Garden Status
On the “All Gardens” page, you may notice a few more gardens with a green status “1” symbol. This simply means that that the garden has been watered by someone very recently (within the last minute) so there’s probably less chance of spotting wildlife in that garden right now.
‘Garden Last Watered’ Message
We fixed a small glitch with the “This garden was last watered … ago” message you see when you first enter/refresh a garden, so it should now always be correct. (It used to be correct most of the time, except for when the plant which was last watered had been harvested or removed!)
‘Are You Sure?’ Confirmations
We received reports that some people were accidentally harvesting Scarecrows or discarding plants when they didn’t intend to, so we have made the “Are you sure?” messages for these actions bright red instead of green. This should help prevent any future accidents 🙂
Scorpio Zodiac Gifts Now Available!
Sunday October 21st
We need to briefly interrupt the Halloween fun because it’s Zodiac time of the month again, and the Scorpio seed is now available in the gift shoppe for sharing with friends!
When ‘Ready For Harvest’, it will of course attract Scorpions to your Garden, which will drop a Citrine Birthstone every 10th time you spot one in other Gardens.
Remember that this year, there are 2 possible Babies which can be born from each Birthstone, and for the Citrine Birthstone, it’s Baby Tortoises and Baby Gazelles!
Baby Tortoise |
Baby Gazelle |
For full details on how to use birthstones to make baby wildlife, please see the ‘Babies’ section of the Wildlife Guide.
Happy baby making!
Halloween Flower Seeds Now Available!
Monday October 15th
Want to plant your Halloween Flowers in your nice new Hand-Painted Halloween pots, instead of the “Pumpkin Pots” they usually come in?
Well now you can! The Halloween Flowers are now available separately as seeds, so you can set your Garden up exactly the way you want it for Halloween!
They’re completely FREE and you’ll find them in the “Misc” section of the Shoppe when you go to buy a seed for an empty pot.
Finally, the witches which appear after your Halloween Flower is Ready For Harvest (and cause Mice and Mallards to become ghosts!) will now last for 7 days instead of 3, so you don’t need to keep re-planting so often 🙂
Seasonal Challenge: Build A Scarecrow!
Thursday October 11th
It’s time for a new seasonal challenge – Scarecrow building!
First, help your friends to get started by sending them a stick!
How It Works
After you have a stick in your Garden (you can have more than one if you wish), your task is to then build your Scarecrow by finding a head, a hat, a shirt and some legs for it. That’s 4 different items in all.
These items are dropped by the Halloween seasonal wildlife (bats, cats, and ghostly wildlife) – every 5th you spot of each type (in other Gardens) will drop an item for you. See the Seasonal section of the Wildlife Guide for full details!
What happens after that? You’ll find out soon enough…!
Have fun!
Fairyland Is About To Become Very Spooky!
Tuesday October 9th
It looks like Fairyland is about to become very spooky because the Shoppe is now stocking its first Halloween items!
First up, our regular Halloween Flower is back, and is available now for gifting to friends:
A “ready for harvest” Halloween Flower will bring the Halloween witches to fly around your Garden for 3 days. Those witches will then cast a spell over any Mice and Mallards entering your Garden, turning them into ghosts (which are worth double diamonds, and drop ‘Trick or Treat’ seeds!)
There are also some new Halloween Hand-Painted Pot designs available from today. There are 5 Halloween-themed designs in all, with a new one appearing each day (they will keep coming back around again until the end of October – so don’t worry if you miss one.)
There’s also a new Limited Edition black in the colour options, which is of course the perfect colour to complement any Halloween Garden 🙂
That’s all for today, but there’s a brand new seasonal challenge arriving later this week, so make sure you have at least one Halloween Flower growing in preparation!
It’s Time To Turn Fairyland Pink Again!
Monday October 1st
Every October, Fairyland turns pink to help raise breast cancer awareness, and our Pink Plant is now available for sending to friends.
You can send them to as many friends as you wish, whether they’re already on Fairyland or not:
As you can see, it comes in a nice new “Hand-Painted” style pot this year! But that’s not all because both the new “Hot Pink” pot colour and the Pink Ribbon design are also available in the Hand-Painted Pot Shoppe as Limited Editions throughout October, so you can create your own variations!
Finally, don’t forget about the “pink” wildlife (Pink Elephants and Flamingos) which can be found around Fairyland at this time of year!
Libra Zodiac Gifts Now Available!
Thursday September 20th
It’s that time of the month again, and the Libra Zodiac seed is now available in the gift shoppe for sending to friends!
When ‘Ready For Harvest’, it will attract Peacocks to your Garden, which will drop an Opal Birthstone every 10th time you spot one in other Gardens.
Remember that this year, there are 2 possible Babies which can be born from each Birthstone, and the Opal Birthstone can be used to make either
Baby Hedgehogs or Baby Kangaroos!
Baby Hedgehog |
Baby Kangaroo |
For full details on how to use birthstones to make baby wildlife, please see the ‘Babies’ section of the Wildlife Guide.
Happy baby making!
Limited Edition Olympic Pots Available Again!
Wednesday August 29th
With today marking the official opening of the 2012 Paralympic Games in London, our Limited Edition Olympic Pots are available once again, as many of you have requested!
So if you missed them last time, or would just like a couple more, they’ll be available in the “Limited Editions” section of the Pot Shoppe until the closing ceremony on Sunday September 9th 🙂
Make Your Own Flowerpots!
Monday August 27th
Saved up lots of Diamonds and looking to spend them on something nice for the Garden?
Then pay a visit to the Pot Shoppe and check out the new ‘Hand-Painted Flowerpots’ which are available from today!
The great thing about these pots is that they are fully customizable with your preferred colours and designs. A different pot design will be available each day, so if you don’t like today’s one (coloured spots), then maybe you’ll like tomorrow’s one better! (Don’t worry too much if you miss a design you like, as they will always come back round again 🙂
Happy pot making!
Virgo Zodiac Gifts Now Available!
Tuesday August 21st
It’s that time of the month again, and the Virgo Zodiac seed is now available in the gift shoppe for sending to friends!
When ‘Ready For Harvest’, it will attract Storks to your Garden, which will drop a Sapphire Birthstone every 10th time you spot one in other Gardens.
Remember that this year, there are 2 possible Babies which can be born from each Birthstone, and the Sapphire Birthstone can be used to make either
Baby Deer or Baby Camels!
Baby Deer |
Baby Camel |
For full details on how to use birthstones to make baby wildlife, please see the ‘Babies’ section of the Wildlife Guide.
Happy baby making!
Special Offer!
Thursday August 16th
We have a special offer for 4000 Gold and 20 Star Dust beginning today!
That’s double the usual amount of Star Dust, plus a little extra Gold too, all for the same price as before!
So why not go ahead and treat yourself (or a friend) help to support the future development of Fairyland 🙂
The offer is only available for a couple of weeks, and there won’t be another for some time, so don’t miss your chance!
Remove Unwanted Background Effects!
Wednesday August 15th
A small but useful new feature has arrived today… you can now view a list of all background effects which are currently frozen in your Garden, and individually remove any which you no longer want!
To do this, simply click the “Star Dust” button just below your garden (the same one used to freeze your background) and in the message box popup that appears you’ll now also see the new option to “View/Remove Individual Effects.” (Note: you’ll only see this option when you already have some frozen effects in your Garden.) And of course, it costs nothing at all to remove an effect – you can do it whenever you wish!
Thanks to everyone who suggested this feature, have fun with it!
Aurora Stones !
Thursday August 9th
Collected a few extra Diamonds during the Free Superfood weekend and looking for something nice to spend them on?
Well if you like Fairyland’s Magical Pots and background effects, then you’ll be happy to hear that a new one has arrived today – Aurora Stones!
The Aurora Stones may not look like much… but they’re capable of producing a colourful background effect in your Garden when the correct flower is growing in them (we’ve received many requests for this particular background effect!)
They are only available at Garden Level 20 and above, because their magical effect is activated by the flowering Piscis Aquabullae, which becomes available at that level.
Different colours of Piscis flower produce different (but complementary) effects in your Garden, so if you have a few sets of Aurora Stones, you can combine multiple effects together to get more of an overall effect.
Finally, it’s also possible to change the overall effect by using one of the existing magical pots, the Old Boot, to also produce a wind effect in your Garden – try it and see what happens!
It’s a FREE SUPERFOOD Weekend!!
Friday August 3rd
Get ready for a wildlife population explosion in Fairyland because it’s time for one of our (very occasional) Free Superfood Weekends, which begins right now!
Everyone can take advantage of the free Superfood, the only condition being that your garden needs to be “public” so that everyone can freely hunt. (If you have made your Garden “private” then you can still take advantage simply by making your Garden public 🙂
Simply refill your feeding tables as you usually would, and you will see the “Free Superfood” option in the Shoppe!
Limited Edition Olympic Pots!
Friday July 27th
Today marks the official opening of the Games of the XXX Olympiad in London, England.
With Fairyland being the truly global community that it is, it seems fitting to introduce some nice Limited Edition items to commemorate the Games.
Of course, we can’t use any Olympic symbols or trademarks in Fairyland (or we may land ourselves in trouble!), but inspired by suggestions we received on our forums, we’ve come up with these special Limited Edition pots which you can buy for your Garden (you’ll find them in the “Limited Editions” section of the Pot Shoppe.)
The pot design is based on a style of pillar found in ancient Greek architecture (to represent the origins of the Olympics), and they come in the colours gold, silver and bronze (to represent the medal colours.) They’re also of slightly different heights (just like the medal podiums!)
So when your country wins a medal, be proud and plant a flower in the appropriate pot in your Garden!
These Limited Editions are available until the Games close, on August 12th.
Leo Zodiac Gifts Now Available!
Wednesday July 18th
It’s that time of the month again, and the Leo Zodiac seed is available in the gift shoppe for sending to friends!
When ‘Ready For Harvest’, it will attract Lions to your Garden, who will drop a Peridot Birthstone every 10th time you spot one in other Gardens.
New! It’s been exactly a year since Birthstones first appeared in Fairyland, and many Gardens already made Baby Brown Bunnies from the Peridot Birthstone last year. So this year, each Birthstone will be capable of producing a new baby (as well as the original one, so you can choose which one you’d like to go for, or do both!)
For this month’s Peridot Birthstone, the new baby is the Giraffe!
For full details about birthstones and baby wildlife, please see the ‘Babies’ section of the Wildlife Guide. (Note: You can use any spare Peridot Birthstones you may already have in storage to make baby Giraffes – so there’s no need to collect new ones if you already have some saved 🙂
Finally, because there are now 2 possible different babies each month, Mother & Baby pairs will begin returning to your Garden a little earlier than before – after only 5 Babies have been born in your Garden, rather than 10 (remember to try and get “twins” born in your Garden if possible, and you’ll reach 5 in no time 🙂
Happy baby making!
Forget-me-not
Monday July 16th
We receive many great suggestions for things you’d like to see in Fairyland, and although it’s impossible for us to do them all, we like to introduce a few of them to the game whenever we can.
One request which has come up numerous times is for a remembrance / memorial plant, so today, a beautiful new Forget-me-not flower has arrived in Fairyland (you can find the seed in the ‘Misc’ section of the Seed Shoppe.)
When Ready For Harvest, the Forget-me-not will become a candle with an ever-burning flame. It has no effect on wildlife visiting your garden, so can simply be placed in your Garden whenever you wish.
Do you have any requests for new plants/pots/backgrounds etc which you would like to see in Fairyland in the future? Please let us know in the “Feedback/Suggestions” section at the bottom of our Forums page, and one day it may just happen!
Chick Challenge (The Final Chapter!)
Thursday July 5th
As promised, a few more Fairyland birds have started nesting today, which means more super-cute chicks will soon be hatching in Fairyland Gardens!
Full details of the new arrivals are in the ‘Chicks’ section of the Wildlife Guide…
We hope that you enjoy the final part of this challenge…. or if you’re not so keen on the birds/chicks, then the good news for you is that this is the last of them! 😉
Grow An Earth Flower – For Earth Hour!
Friday March 23rd
Earth Hour is this Monday, and people all over the world will be turning out their lights for an hour from 8:30pm – 9:30pm, to promote awareness of the need to protect our planet for future generations.
If you wish, you can ‘turn out the lights’ in your Fairyland Garden too, with our Limited Edition Earth Flower, available for gifting now for free!
When Fully Grown (or Ready For Harvest), the Earth Flower will allow you to turn out the lights in your Garden for 1 hour at the time of your choosing – aim for 8:30pm on Monday, your local time. (Please note that there’s no special wildlife attracted to the Earth Flower, but it does look very nice in the Garden 🙂
Fairyland is a truly global community, so it should be fun to see Gardens in different timezeones going dark at different times throughout the day on Monday!
Set Your Own Maximum “Wildlife Alert” Time!
Thursday March 22nd
A nice little feature has been added today, following feedback we’ve received recently – you can now set the maximum possible time for “wildlife alerts” in your own Garden 🙂
“Wildlife alerts” are the advance warnings which some types of short-staying wildlife (chicks, babies, hummingbirds, butterflies etc) give before they feed, to let you know they’re coming. Until now, these would always last for anything up to 30 minutes. Many Gardens will likely just leave things the way they are now (i.e. a maximum alert time of 30 minutes) as these alerts are useful for getting your short-staying wildlife spotted. But some very busy Gardens may now choose to have shorter alerts (or even switch off alerts completely!)
You can find this new option in the “About This Garden” section of your Garden.
Have fun experimenting with the new alerts 🙂
Aries Zodiac Gifts Now Available!
Monday March 19th
Most Gardens are currently enjoying the egg-hunting challenge, so it will probably be a while before anyone plants this month’s Zodiac seed… but it’s that time of the month, so it’s available now anyway for anyone who wants it!
When ‘Ready For Harvest’, it will attract Rams to your Garden. Rams will drop a Diamond Birthstone every 10th time you spot one in other Gardens.
You can then use these Birthstones to help make cute baby Badgers in your Garden! (Full details about baby wildlife are in the Wildlife Guide.)
Badgers are notoriously difficult to attract at the best of times, so remember to be patient with them! (The birthstones never expire of course, so Badgers can simply be attracted gradually over a period of time.)
Storing Nests (In Need Of Repair)
Monday March 19th
We’ve received a number of requests to be able to “store” nests which are in need of repair (all nests, except for hummingbird nests, need a little repairing after every 5 eggs.)
Great news – this is now possible, so you can now store any nests which need repairing, and then repair them at a more convenient time
(for example, overnight is a popular time to set your Garden up for nest repairs!)
Golden Daffodils!
Friday March 16th
Something we forgot to mention in all the excitement yesterday was that all Daffodils give bonus Gold when harvested this year – every one is guaranteed to give 10 Gold (and if you’re really lucky, you may get a little more than that sometimes!)
So keep growing them throughout the next few weeks, and they will not only make your Garden look pretty and attract plenty of Easter Bunnies for your visitors to spot, but they’ll also provide you with an extra source of free Gold 🙂 Better still, we’ve just made Daffodils available in the regular Seed Shoppe too (in the “Misc” section) which means that you can plant them just like normal seeds, in any pot you like… and even better still – they’re completely FREE!
Enjoy 🙂
The Great Fairyland Easter Bunny Hunt Is Back!
Thursday March 15th
It’s time for this year’s Great Fairyland Easter Bunny Hunt to begin!
Daffodils are now available for gifting to friends – these will attract the Easter Bunny to your Garden!
There’s a whole new twist this year’s Easter hunt… and it’s time to start make use of those nests you’ve been building!
While hunting the Easter Bunny, keep an empty nest in your Garden… then when you spot a bunny (in another garden) he will drop an egg for you.
Incubate this egg in your nest, leaving some Bird Mix out in your Garden at the same time (on a low table) and it will soon hatch!
Not finished building a nest yet?
Don’t worry – so that everyone can join the fun right away, you can now get one ready-completed nest simply by clicking here! (But there’s only one freebie nest per Garden – if you want more than one then you’ll need to get nest-building 😉
Nest repairs:
Nests don’t last forever – each one can host 5 eggs (one after the other, not at the same time) before it will need a little repair work. This simply means that it goes back to 80% complete, and you’ll need to get some help from your feathered friends to repair it. (Tip: nest parts added by Hummingbirds don’t ever need repairing, so if you can manage to build yourself an all-hummingbird nest then you’ll never need to repair it 🙂
What hatches from the eggs?
Different coloured eggs hatch different coloured chicks, so for example the red egg only hatches red chicks, but the violet egg randomly hatches any colour chick (with equal chance.) Please see the Seasonal section in the Wildlife Guide for full details (the chicks even drop triple seeds for every 10th spotted – great news if you’re collecting for Supershrooms etc!) Finally, let’s try to break last year’s record!
Here’s a reminder of how many Easter Bunnies were spotted in previous years… can we spot even more Bunnies this year (by the end of April)?!
2010:401,201 bunnies spotted
2011:430,460 bunnies spotted
2012:???
Happy Egg Hunting!
Leprechauns and Shamrocks!
Thursday March 8th
As many Fairylanders already know, early March is the time of year when the Leprechauns pay us a visit! Leprechauns can be spotted in and around the Gardens mischeivously stealing the veggies which have been left out for Wildlife! They are attracted to Gardens with fully grown Shamrocks, and these are available now for gifting to friends. (Remember that you can also send them to friends who aren’t on Fairyland yet – especially if you have any Irish friends who may appreciate one!)
Send Gifts
This year, Leprechauns drop Forest Emerald seeds for every 10th spotted in other Gardens (many Fairylanders commented last year that the Emerald would be the most appropriate seed for them to drop, and the Leprechauns agreed!) Finally, as an additional bonus, every Shamrock releases a small Pot O’ Gold when harvested… and if you’re super-lucky and manage to grow a 4-leaf Shamrock, it will produce a magical garden effect along with a bigger Pot O’ Gold! (Approximately 1 in 10 Fairyland Shamrocks will grow 4 leaves.)
Good luck!
Spring Seasonal Challenge – Nest Building!
Tuesday February 21st
Spring is in the air in Fairyland, and it’s the perfect time for the birds to start building their nests.
But they can’t do it alone – they’ll need a helping hand from the Fairies and Elves of Fairyland… which means it’s time for a brand new Fairyland Seasonal Challenge for Spring: Nest Building!
First, you’ll need to provide the birds with somewhere to build their nests in your Garden – a Nesting Tree. These are available now as free gifts for sharing with friends:
After you have a Nesting Tree in your Garden, your next task is then to attract different birds to your Garden to build a nest in it! All adult birds in Fairyland can help to build a nest, and each nest requires the help of 5 different birds to complete it. Every 5th of each type of bird attracted to your Garden (and spotted) will add a little more to your nest.
So as an example, if you have already had 3 Wrens, 8 Yellow Wagtails, 9 Pairs of Lovebirds, 21 Mallards and 12 Magpies spotted in your Garden, you will need to attract a further 2 Wrens, 2 Yellow Wagtails, 1 Pair of Lovebirds, 4 Mallards and 3 Magpies (and have them all spotted either by your visitors or by yourself) to complete your first nest. (Any combination of 5 different birds is ok!)
After you’ve set your Garden up with a Nesting Tree, and flowers/food to attract birds, remember to help your friends complete their nests by spotting birds in their Gardens for them!
What Can I Do With A Finished Nest?
Nothing…. yet! All you can do just now is to send completed nests to your storage area for safe keeping.
Then all will be revealed around mid-March – this should give everyone plenty of time to get at least one nest finished and ready 🙂
In fact, if you can get your first nest finished in good time, then it’s a good idea to build another… having more than one will definitely be useful later!
(If you enjoy a challenge, you could even try for an all-hummingbird-built nest!)

When ‘Ready For Harvest’, it will attract Fish to your Garden (special fish which can breathe out of water, apparently!) These Fish will drop an Aquamarine birthstone every 10th time you spot one in other Gardens. You can then use these Birthstones to help make cute baby Raccoons in your Garden! (Full details about baby wildlife are in the Wildlife Guide)
Cupid Mouse Arrives To Spread The Love!
Monday February 6th
There’s a new arrival in Fairyland today – meet Cupid Mouse! Cupid Mouse’s mission is to “spread the love” thoughout Fairyland by slowly but surely visiting every single Garden!
But he can only do this with the help of all the Fairies and Elves, so here’s what you need to do…
Similar to other “special” mice, Cupid Mouse will visit your garden in place of the regular Field Mouse whenever you have a flowering Valentine Rose in your Garden.
The Valentine Rose looks like this:
Starting today and until February 14th, all newly created Fairyland Gardens will automatically receive a Valentine Rose. So to begin with, brand new Gardens will be the only ones capable of attracting Cupid Mouse. To get a Valentine Rose for your own Garden, you need to spot a Cupid Mouse in someone else’s Garden, while at the same time ensuring that you have an empty “Glass Vase” in your own Garden (this is the pot which comes free with the Loveflower gift.)
Then when you manage to spot Cupid Mouse, he will fire his arrow over into your Garden, which will land in the empty vase and grow into your own beautiful Valentine Rose. While flowering, your Valentine Rose will then attract Cupid Mouse to your own Garden (it flowers for just 1 day, so be sure he doesn’t have too much other competition for the food!)
In this way, Cupid Mouse will slowly but surely “spead the love” throughout Fairyland as he visits more and more Gardens! (This also means that he will become easier to spot over time, so don’t worry if you can’t spot him immediately…)
There are always a few new Gardens starting in Fairyland every day so the first few Cupid Mouse visits should be coming soon. Or to get things kick-started faster, you could also invite a few friends to start new Gardens! (If you were looking for an excuse to invite a few friends to Fairyland, then what better time to do it than now?!)
Invite Friends To Fairyland!
Have fun spreading the Love throughout Fairyland!

When flowering, the Loveflower attracts beautiful Lovebirds to your Garden (remember to leave out some Bird Mix for them!)
And just like last year, you can secretly Star-Dust a “Ready For Harvest” Loveflower in any Garden in Fairyland… and the Garden Owner will be left guessing who did it! Whose Loveflower(s) will you Star-Dust this year, and will you receive a secret Star-Dusting yourself?!
And that’s not all… coming to Fairyland early next week is a very special Valentine’s visitor, who will bring a slightly different twist to things, which should be a lot of fun! (More news on this soon…)
