Pondweed Combos

The Pondweed Challenge was introduced in May 2014.

It brought with it a brand new set of pond wildlife and a tough new challenge.
All of these pond wildlife are attracted by a combination of different coloured Pondweed.

Where to begin …

Before getting underway, it is good to prepare ahead so that everything goes smoothly. The more you plan, the easier the task.

Important: The ‘Rainbow of Fish’ challenge MUST be completed before you attempt the Pondweed Challenge, otherwise you’ll find these wildlife impossible to attract!

Preparing for the pondweed combos

1. Read all the options before you get started, to make sure you know what is ahead of you and, most
importantly, which option suits you best.

2. Make sure all of your Pond Mythological Wildlife have been attracted to within one (1) of what is needed
to plant Pondweed in the relevant coloured Rocks. See example of this below.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
The following are the numbers needed for each Mythological Wildlife
to plant the required Pondweed

Water Seadragon (attracted by Agaric Mushroom)
– every 5th one spotted will plant Red Pondweed

Rainbow Seadragon (attracted by Gathering Elves Mushroom)
– every 5th one spotted will plant Orange Pondweed

Golden Seadragon (attracted by Golden Deceiver Mushroom)
– every 5th one spotted will plant Yellow Pondweed

Griffish (attracted by Gathering Pixies Mushroom)
– every 3rd one spotted will plant Green Pondweed

Phoenish (attracted by Amethyst Parasol Mushroom)
– every 3rd one spotted will plant Blue Pondweed

Sea-Pegasus (attracted by Gathering Fairies Mushroom)
– every 2nd one spotted will plant Indigo Pondweed

Sea-Unicorn (attracted by Pink Cap Mushroom)
– every 2nd one spotted will plant Violet Pondweed

It is best to attract the difficult to attract myths first so you get
the most time out of your pondweed. A guide for the myths from
most difficult to easiest is as follows:

1.    Sea-Unicorn
2.    Sea-Peagasus
3.    Phoenish
4.    Griffish
5.    Golden Seadragon
6. Rainbow Seadragon, then
7.    Watery Seadragon

3. Make sure you have enough of the following resources:
– Underwater Toadstool seeds
– Pink diamonds to purchase your Rocks from Ye Olde Fairyland Pot Shoppe
– Jewel seeds for Supershrooms
– Gold to purchase the correct food, you may need to dump food to move on.

So, plant your UW toadstool, go underwater, and lets get started

Option 1

Start with the goldfish and work through as follows:

Important things to note:
1. Do not dust any of the pondweeds up until you have all 6 pondweeds planted in the rocks
2. Make sure the underwater toadstool has plenty of time left on it before you plant the 6th pondweed.

Step 1

Plant your underwater toadstool, then wait for the Mermaid to be spotted and magically transport your garden to the bottom of the garden pond for the remaining time, until the toadstool becomes RFH!

Step 2

Purchase the Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet Rocks and place them in your garden ready, along with the rainbow rocks ready to plant each of your mushrooms.

Step 3

Plant each mushroom one at a time and attract each of the Mythological Wildlife one by one that are needed to plant your Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet Pondweed, do not attract the Watery Seadragon to plant the Red Pondweed until Step 11. Remember, it is best to attract the difficult to attract Mythological Wildlife first so you get the most time out of your Pondweed.

Step 4

Plant a Supershroom to achieve the best outcome.

Step 5

Dust up the Orange and Yellow Pondweed ONLY to Fully Grown (FG) to attract the Goldfish.

Step 6

Dust up the Blue and Indigo Pondweeds to FG to attract the Angelfish and Squid.
NOTE: Don’t worry too much about the Angelfish it will also appear with the Dolphin and The Loch Ness Monster

Step 7

Dust up the Violet Pondweed to FG to attract the Dolphin

Step 8

Dust up the Green Pondweed to FG to attract The Loch Ness Monster
NOTE: The Angelfish will also be attracted by this setup

Step 9

Remove the Indigo Pondweed and the Supershroom.

Step 10

Plant the Agaric Mushroom and attract the Watery Seadragon needed to plant your Red Pondweed.

Step 11

Purchase the Red Rocks and place in your garden ready for the Red Pondweed into them.

Step 12

Dust up the Red Pondweed to FG to attract the Sea Turtle.

Step 13

Remove the Orange Pondweed to attract the Pufferfish.

Option 2

Start by planting all 7 coloured rocks and work through as follows:

Important things to note:
1. This option requires either a greenhouse (the reward for completing the topiary trail challenge)
or the replacement of a mushroom for the Red Rocks. Time to babysit would be a must.
2 Do not dust any of the pondweeds up until you have all 7 pondweeds planted in the rocks
3. Keep an eye on your underwater toadstool to make sure it has enough time left on it.

Step 1

Plant your underwater toadstool, then wait for the Mermaid to be spotted and magically transport your garden to the bottom of the garden pond for the remaining time, until the toadstool becomes RFH!

Step 2

Purchase the Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet Rocks and place them in your garden ready, along with the rainbow rocks ready to plant each of your mushrooms (this can be done while you’re waiting for the mermaid to take you underwater).

Step 3

Plant each mushroom one at a time and attract each of the Mythological Wildlife one by one that are needed to plant your Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet Pondweed. Remember, it is best to attract the difficult to attract Mythological Wildlife first so you get the most time out of your Pondweed.

Step 4

When you believe the plate has been programmed for the Watery Seadragon, either harvest the mushroom or move it to your Greenhouse if you have one. Then place the Red Rocks in your garden ready for the Pondweed when the Watery Seadragon is spotted.

Step 5

Dust up the Red, Yellow, Green, Blue and Violet Pondweeds to FG to attract the Pufferfish

Step 6

Dust up the Orange Pondweed to FG to attract the Turtle

Step 7

Dust up the Indigo Pondweed to FG to attract the The Loch Ness Monster

Step 8

Remove the Red Pondweed to attract the Angelfish. Now that there is room in your garden, you could add a Supershroom to achieve the best outcome.

Step 9

Remove the Green Pondweed to attract the Dolphin

Step 10

Remove the Violet Pondweed to attract the Squid

Step 11

Remove the Blue Pondweed to attract the Goldfish

Option 3

Again start with the goldfish and work through as follows:

Step 1

Purchase the Orange and Yellow Rocks which are needed to start this step of the Pondweed challenge (this can be done while you’re waiting for the Mermaid to take you underwater).

Step 2

Plant each mushroom one at a time and attract each of the Mythological Wildlife one by one that are needed to plant your Orange and Yellow Pondweed. Remember, it is best to attract the difficult to attract Mythological Wildlife first so you get the most time out of your Pondweed.

Step 3

Dust up the Orange and Yellow Pondweed to FG to attract the Goldfish

Step 4

Plant a Supershroom to achieve the best outcome.

Step 5

Purchase the Blue and Indigo Rocks which are needed to start this option for the pondweed challenge (this can be done while you’re waiting for the mermaid to take you underwater).

Step 6

Plant each mushroom one at a time and attract each of the Mythological Wildlife one by one that are needed to plant your Blue and Indigo Pondweed. Remember, it is best to attract the difficult to attract Mythological Wildlife first so you get the most time out of your Pondweed.

Step 7

Dust up your Blue and Indigo Pondweed to attract Angelfish, you will also attact the Squid

Step 8

Plant the Gathering Fairies Mushroom needed to attract the Sea-Pegasus needed to plant your Indigo Pondweed.

Step 9

Dust up your Violet Pondweed to attract the Dolphin

Step 10

Plant the Gathering Pixies Mushroom needed to attract the Griffish needed to plant your Green Pondweed.

Step 11

Dust up your Green Pondweed to attract The Loch Ness Monster

Step 12

Remove the Indigo Pondweed

Step 13

Plant the Agaric Mushroom and attract the Watery Seadragon needed to plant your Red Pondweed.

Step 14

Dust up the Red Pondweed to attract the Turtle

Step 15

Remove the Orange Pondweed to attract the Pufferfish

Option 4

Try them one at a time or a few together and work through as follows:

It will take a bit longer but you may find it more relaxing and not so rushed.

Dolphin and Angelfish

Step 1

Purchase the Orange, Blue, Indigo and Violet Rocks which are needed to start this step of Option 4 of the Pondweed challenge (this can be done while you’re waiting for the mermaid to take you underwater).

Step 2

Plant each mushroom one at a time and attract each of the myths one by one that are needed to plant your Orange, Blue, Indigo and Violet Pondweed. Remember, it is best to attract the difficult to attract Mythological Wildlife first so you get the most time out of your Pondweed.

Step 3

Dust up the Orange, Blue, Indigo and Violet Pondweed to FG to attract Dolphin and Angelfish

Step 4

Plant a Supershroom to achieve the best outcome.

The Loch Ness Monster, Turtle and Pufferfish

Step 1

Purchase the Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet Rocks which are needed to start this step of Option 4 for the Pondweed Challenge (this can be done while you’re waiting for the Mermaid to take you underwater).

Step 2

Dust up the Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet Pondweed to FG to attract The Loch Ness Monster, Turtle and Pufferfish

Step 4

Plant a Supershroom to achieve the best outcome.

Goldfish

Step 1

Purchase the Orange and Yellow Rocks which are needed to start this step of Option 4 for the Pondweed Challenge (this can be done while you’re waiting for the Mermaid to take you underwater).

Step 2

Dust up the orange and yellow pondweed to FG to attract Goldfish

Step 4

Plant a Supershroom to achieve the best outcome.

Squid and Angelfish

Step 1

Purchase the yellow, blue, indigo and violet rocks which are needed to start this step of option 4 for the pondweed challenge (this can be done while you’re waiting for the mermaid to take you underwater).

Step 2

Plant each mushroom one at a time and attract each of the myths one by one that are needed to plant your pondweed. It would be best to attract the difficult to attract myths first so you get the most time out of your pondweed. A guide for the myths from most difficult to easiest is as follows: sea pegasus, phoenish, then golden sea dragon.

Step 3

Dust up the yellow, blue and indigo pondweed to FG to attract Squid to finish it off.
NOTE: It is possible to deter the angelfish by planting red pondweed.

Step 4

Plant a Supershroom to achieve the best outcome.
