This Guide will tell you all you need to know about attracting/spotting all the different types of
Fairyland wildlife!

To attract wildlife to your Garden:
  • Grow the right plants to attract it.
  • Leave the right type of food out for it, on the right feeding table.
  • Regular Food: Attracts 5 wildlife within 18 hours, the maximum time between visits is 6 hours.
  • Double Regular Food: Attracts 10 wildlife within 36 hours, the maximum time between visits is 6 hours.
  • Triple Regular Food: Attracts 15 wildlife within 54 hours, the maximum time between visits is 6 hours.
  • Organic Food: Attracts 5 wildlife within 12 hours, the maximum time between visits is 5 hours.
  • Double Organic Food: Attracts 10 wildlife within 24 hours, the maximum time between visits is 5 hours.
  • Triple Organic Food: Attracts 15 wildlife within 36 hours, the maximum time between visits is 5 hours.
  • Superfood: Attracts 20 wildlife within 24 hours, plus all wildlife are guaranteed to stay for the maximum possible time,
the maximum time between visits is 2:40 hours.
  • Come back later to see what wildlife visited, and whether anyone spotted it!

To spot wildlife in other Gardens:
Find a Garden to hunt in (you can find Gardens advertised in our Sprinkling Lists).
  • Water any plant in the Garden
  • If any wildlife is there when you water, it will pop out!
  • If you wish, you can leave a friendly message for the garden owner to say you dropped by,
before moving on to the next Garden for a sprinkle!

The wildlife within the following  sections is listed in date or progressive order as per the Fairyland Wildlife Guide.
Clicking on any of the Wildlife names which are shown in Green will take you to their
Ultimate Garden Setup or the Sprinkling List.

FG = Fully Grown, RFH = Ready For Harvest.

Common

The Mice and the Mallards are by far the most common of the Fairyland Wildlife, and are the only ones which will visit your Garden regardless what you are growing. They're pretty harmless (they won't eat your plants or anything bad like that!) however they will always be there competing with other Wildlife for the food in your Garden. You can never keep these guys out completely, however if you plan your Garden well, you can increase the chances of other Wildlife getting to your food first. Here are the 3 main ways to achieve this:
  1. Plant wisely to try and attract other Wildlife first before the Mice/Mallards get there - remember that the more you plant of the same flower, the higher the overall attraction power!
  2. White Mice and Pygmy Mice cannot reach the 'raised table' (although Field Mice and Mallards still can!) so if you're trying to attract Wildlife such as Birds or Mythological creatures which can feed from the raised table, then using this table will increase your chances due to there being less competitors for the food.
  3. Fully grown Magical Mushrooms are known to help deter Mice & Mallards. You'll need to work your way through them to get to the more powerful ones - the first few Mushrooms you unlock will only have a slight deterrent effect.

Marsupials

The Original set of Marsupials (Kangaroo, Wallaby, Koala and Tasmanian Devil) are attracted to the green and gold colours of the ‘Aureus’ flowers. These are only available for planting in the highest Garden Levels, but of course everyone can enjoy trying to spot them while working up to those levels!

The later Marsupials to arrive from "Downunder" are believed to be attracted by the abundance of Veggie treats that can be found in Fairyland. Of the new arrivals, the Wombat is the more difficult one to attract.

Planimals

‘Planimals’ is the name given to the Wildlife which occasionally visits Fairyland from other planets! You need to be at least Level 25 to attract Planimals, but of course anyone can try to spot them in other Gardens.

With the exception of the Meteorat, Planimals are very rare and difficult to attract, so it’s best to have a good Mouse-deterring Mushroom in your Garden whilst trying to attract them. Also, pay special attention to what deters them to ensure you’re not accidentally deterring them at the same time as trying to attract them!

Planimals can only reach low feeding tables. For more information see our Planimals and Planets Guide.

Mythological

Dragons, Unicorns and other creatures considered by Humans to be Mythological, all inhabit Fairyland! They can only be attracted by growing the various types of Magical Mushroom in your Garden. Additionally, if you're lucky enough to spot the first of one of these creatures to visit a Garden, you'll receive a Gold bonus (but note that this extra bonus doesn't apply if you spot it in your own Garden - only if you spot someone else's first creature for them!)

Top tip: Mythological creatures will happily eat food from both types of feeding table - so when trying to attract them, you can increase your chances by using the raised table (less competition from those Wildlife which can't reach it!)

Rainforest

The Rainforest Wildlife are attracted by the rare and special 'Jewel of the Forest' seeds. Most of the Rainforest Wildlife are attracted by a combination of several flowering Jewels of the Forest, rather than just a single one. Therefore timing is very important - you should wait until you have all the required seeds available before you plant, and take care to note the growth times of each plant - they are not all the same!

Tip 1: The first Jewel listed for each type of Wildlife is its 'favourite' - this is the one you can plant multiple of if you want to increase the attraction power!

Tip 2: Herb 'deterrents' for the Rainforest Wildlife work pretty well, but just a single one will not guarantee a 100% deterrent effect - you will need a couple of them if you want a 100% deterrent effect.

Endangered

Naturally, the Endangered Rainforest Wildlife are some of the most difficult Wildlife to attract/spot in Fairyland. They will require some very good garden planning and the patience to collect all of the required seeds. Read carefully what is required for each - and take care not to confuse your 'Jewels of the Forest' with your 'Enchanted Jewels'!

It is strongly advised that you also have a good 'Magical Mushroom' Mouse deterrent in your Garden before attempting to attract the Endangered Rainforest Wildlife. You will also need to figure out how best to deter any other Rainforest Wildlife from eating the fruit first!

Once you have these things in place, you should find that the Endangered Wildlife will actually visit reasonably frequently... but be warned - they don't stick around for long! However, like the Hummingbirds, there is a little advance warning that an Endangered animal will soon be feeding, which will help you to better target your waterings!

Tip: The first Jewel listed for each type of Wildlife (i.e. the 'Enchanted' one) is its 'favourite' - this is the one you can plant multiple of if you want to increase the attraction power!

Hummingbirds

Hummingbirds are interesting Wildlife in Fairyland because they can be seen hovering around a Garden shortly before feeding! If you see one hovering around in the background of a Garden (you'll only see it after watering) then that doesn't count as a 'spot', but you can be sure that it will be feeding there in less than 30 minutes. So you may decide to stay in the Garden and water a little later to try and spot it feeding, or you may like to alert your Fairyland Friends that a Hummingbird will shortly be feeding in that Garden, so they can try spotting it too!

Like the regular Rainforest wildlife, Hummingbirds also drop 'Enchanted' Jewel of the Forest seeds (one dropped by every 10th spotted), giving you another way of earning these very rare seeds :) And also like the Rainforest Wildlife, the first listed flower (i.e. always the 'Enchanted' one) is the Hummingbird's favourite - so you can plant multiple of this flower to increase the overall hummingbird attraction power!

The challenge with Hummingbirds however is that they are some of the fastest Wildlife in Fairyland, staying a maximum of 2 minutes when feeding. However, the 'advance warning' they give should be of great assistance to the Hummingbird spotter!

Zodiacs

Each of the 12 Fairyland Zodiac Wildlife are attracted by one of Fairyland's Zodiac flowers (limited editions, one available each month in the Gift Shoppe). They are attracted only when the flower is Ready For Harvest (when it produces a Star Constellation.)

Each type of Zodiac Wildlife drops a different Magical Birthstone for every 10th time you spot it in other Gardens. These are used to help make Baby Wildlife in your Garden!

Babies

In Fairyland, one of the most important jobs of the Fairies and Elves is to help the wildlife produce their offspring! Here's how:
  • Collect 'Magical Birthstones' by spotting Zodiac Wildlife. (Every 10th Zodiac animal spotted drops a different type of Birthstone.
  • Each type of Baby Wildlife is born from a specific Birthstone, as shown on this page. You need to leave the correct Birthstone empty in your Garden, and then set up the rest of your Garden to attract the adult version of that Wildlife.
  • When the 10th (or 20th or 30th etc) of the adult animal is spotted in your Garden, it will plant a Birthflower seed in your empty Birthstone.
  • Nurture this seed through flowering and when Ready For Harvest, it will produce a 'Baby Bubble'!
  • Put out the correct food for the new Baby to eat, and you will tempt it out of its Bubble for its first ever feed! (Most Baby Wildlife require a low feeding table... with a few notable exceptions such as the Baby Giraffe and the Baby Kangaroo, which can also reach the high table!)
  • You get an 'alert' when the Bubble is about to 'pop', which works like other Fairyland alerts - anything up to 30 minutes before it happens. (Note: on rare occasions, you may even get Twins i.e. two Babies from one Baby Bubble! Each will feed on a different food plate, but only the first visit comes with an alert - the second may come as a surprise!)
  • After the Baby has been spotted feeding, the Birthflower can be harvested, and that particular Birthstone will lose its powers (although you can still use it as a regular pot in your Garden if you wish.)

Chicks

The Fairies and Elves of Fairyland play an important role in helping the Fairyland Birds to lay their eggs and produce Baby Chicks! Here's how it's done:
  • Important Fairyland fact: Birds will only nest and lay eggs in a nest which they have helped to build. So for example, a Wren will only nest and lay an egg in a nest which another Wren helped to build.
  • First, you'll need a completed nest in your Garden (nesting trees are available in the Gift Shoppe.)
  • Decide which Chick you'd like to try for first, and attract the adult Bird to your Garden while the completed nest is sitting there empty. Every 10th of that Bird spotted in your Garden will nest in your empty nest (remember, the nest must have been part-built by that same type of Bird!)
  • When it's nesting in your Garden, the Bird will have a task for you to complete before it will lay an egg (speak to the Bird to ask it about the task - different Birds will have different tasks for you.)
  • As soon as you complete the task, the Bird will lay its egg, and you will then need to leave the correct food out for the Chick (low feeding table) and it will soon hatch and the chick can be spotted.
Finally, watch out for Cuckoos! They are attracted to, and will nest in, any empty nest! You can either deter them (with Butterpillaflora Flowers) or shoo them away if an unwanted one decides to nest in your Garden.

Caterpillars & Butterflies

Fairyland is home to many beautiful Mystical Butterflies. Each Butterfly starts out life as a cute little Caterpillar, and your task is to use your gardening and wildlife spotting skills to help those Caterpillars become beautiful Butterflies! Here's how:
  • To become a Butterfly, a Caterpillar must first form its chrysalis on a plant in your Garden, inside which nature works her magic and the transition to Butterfly takes place.
  • Each type of Caterpillar only forms its chrysalis on one specific type of Butterpillaflora plant, which are available in the Seed Shoppe. So before you go looking for a Caterpillar, you must ensure that you are growing the correct Butterpillaflora plant in your own Garden, and that is at the correct growth stage (it must have sprouted, i.e. be at a green stage of growth, but must not yet be flowering.)
  • If you then spot a Caterpillar in another Garden, it will head straight to your Garden and form its chrysalis on that plant (assuming it is the correct Butterpillaflora plant for that Caterpillar type, and it is not yet flowering.)
  • You then need to nurture the plant to Fully Grown (i.e. wait until it flowers.) You cannot sprinkle Fairy Dust on Butterpillaflora plants - they must be grown naturally, however they bloom in just a few hours rather than days.
  • As soon as the plant flowers, the Butterfly will be released from the chrysalis and will flutter away into the distance, leaving a sparkling flower behind!
  • You must keep that same sparkling flower in your Garden, and some time later (assuming you have the correct food out) the Butterfly will return to your Garden and flutter around between the flowers - this means she will be feeding there within 30 minutes!
  • The Butterfly will keep returning until either she is spotted feeding, or the flower becomes Ready for Harvest, whichever happens first. So don't worry if she is missed the first time she visits - she will be back and you should get plenty of chances to have her spotted!
  • After the Butterfly has been spotted, she will not return again and the flower will stop sparkling to show that it is no longer attracting a Butterfly. To get your next Butterfly visit, you will need to repeat the process by spotting another Caterpillar and nurturing it in your Garden (although in some rare and lucky cases, a Butterfly may decide to feed twice in your Garden :)
  • You can only nurture one chrysalis in your Garden at any one time. But as soon as the flower blooms and the Butterfly is released, you can immediately begin trying for another one (you don't need to wait until the Butterfly has been spotted, only until it has been released from its chrysalis.)
  • For information about the tasks you need to complete to unlock each seed for attracting Butterflies/Caterpillars, please see the information in the Seed Shoppe.
Additional tip: Like the Rainforest Wildlife and the Hummingbirds, the first listed flower for each Caterpillar is its favourite. This is a different flower for each Caterpillar, so you can increase the overall attraction power for a certain Ccaterpillar by planting multiple of its favourite flower (the exception being the Wriggly Red, which is only attracted by the Supershroom, of which you can only have one.)

Albinos & Melanistic

Rare variants of some of the Fairyland Wildlife can occasionally be found feeding in the Gardens - for example, the Albino Hedgehog,
which is a variant of the common Fairyland Hedgehog.  Another example is the Black Panther which is the melanistic version of the Leopard. There's nothing different you need to do to attract them - so our friends the Albino Hedgehog and Black Panther will occasionally visit any Garden set up to attract the regular Hedgehog or the regular Leopard respectively, and will stay for the same amount of time.
However, they are certainly rare, typically making up only around 5-10% of the population of their Wildlife type.
But if you're lucky enough to spot one, they'll be carrying a nice large Diamond bonus for you!

Dinosaurs

Dinosaurs hatch from Dinosaur eggs, so the first thing you need is a Dinosaur nest in which to hatch them.

Dinosaur nests can only be built by 5 of the same Dinosaur, so once the first piece of the nest is in place, you need to spot 4 more of the same Dinosaur to complete it. Dinosaurs will not help to build a nest if it has already been started by a different Dinosaur, so you won't accidentally ruin your nest by spotting the wrong one. And like bird nests, they need a little repair work after every 5 uses.

The wildlife which drops Dinosaur eggs changes every week (at midnight GMT every Sunday evening) and may be different for different players... so remember to check Wildlife Guide to find out which Wildlife you need to attract or spot each week!
